The International Commission on Surface Water is one of nine Commissions within the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), which promotes scientific and operational hydrology.

A New team of officers has been elected during the Genral Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysiscs at Birmingham, UK, 19-30 July 1999. The role of the Commission is outlined (see IAHS Homepage).
